1888年7月26日,里姆斯基-科萨科夫完成《天方夜谭(Sheherazade)。

  St. Petersburg group of five
A group of mostly self-taught composers in st. Petersburg determined to create a predominantly Russian style of music, scoffed at the school's emphasis on German music.These composers, known as the "five," whose members included balakilev, borotin, guy, mussorgsky and rimsky-kosakov, drew their inspiration from their home country's folk and popular music.The leader of the five, mili balakilev (1837-1910), was a pianist and music teacher who spent much of his time encouraging other members of the group.In 1862, he opened the st. Petersburg free music school and later served as rector of the chapel at the imperial court.The symphonic poem tamara (l867-1882) and the Oriental piano fantasia israme (1869) are his most famous works.
     
 
     
  Today in the history of music
On July 26, 1888, Remsky Kosakov completed Sheherazade.
The earliest Russian composer was Rimsky-Korsakov-1844-1908, with a successful opening in St. Petersburg in 1865.He later became a major member of the Fifth Regiment.His first opera, The Pskofer Girl, premiered in 1373.His most famous works are operas and symphonic poems, both based on the folk music the author was familiar with as a child.He wrote about 15 operas, all based on Slavic fairy tales and Russian history.Among the most important were The Snow Girl (1880 -- l881) and the Golden Cock (1909).These works, full of fantasy and supernatural content, lack dramatic appeal, but their music, thanks to a system of inflections, skillfully conveys the distinction between fairy tales and photorealism.His colorful and vivid orchestration style is fully displayed in symphonic suites such as Spanish Cappadocia (1887), Sheherazade (1888) and the Overture of Russian Easter (1888).Rimsky-kosakov constantly revised his early work and made major (sometimes unsatisfactory) changes to Musorgsky's work before it was published.Igor Stravinsky, Alexander Grazunov and Sergei Prokofiev were among Rimsky-Kosakov's students.Through them, the influence of the first generation of Russian composers permeated the development of Russian music in the 20th century.
Musski-kosakov's style contains four characteristics: the melody is the old Russian style and the rhythm is original;The harmony was rich and bold;His arrangement of instruments is very talented, the mixture of timbre is natural and gorgeous;In addition, his works also exudes the openness and warmth rarely seen in composers of old Russia.Rimsky Kosakov was born in the army, but he abandoned his military career and turned to music because of the inspiration of the Russian folk music school, such as Glingka, and the inspiration of the five musicians.He is specialized in theoretical composition, especially orchestral arrangement and color application, which have great influence on later generations.

  In 1856, he joined the midshipman in st. Petersburg. In his spare time, he learned to play the piano, watch operas and listen to concerts.He sailed from 1862 to 65.He completed his first symphony in 1865."The Stone Guest," by Dargomyzhsky, in 1869.
 In 1871 he became professor of Musical Instruments and composition at the st. Petersburg conservatory of music.He was the head of the free music school from 1874 to 1881 and made his debut as a conductor and educator.His students were Alexander grazunov, autolino lespicchi, stravinsky, and prokofiev.

  Graduate (PhD) of the Academy of Music in Katowice, where he completed courses in composition and music theory as well as symphony and opera conducting taught by Szymon Bywalec. In addition, he attended Michael Dittrich’s conducting masterclass in Budapest, where he was awarded Second Prize in a competition, and masterclasses led by Gabriel Chmura, Jacek Kaspszyk and Larry Livingston. He is closely associated with Archetti Chamber Orchestra, with which he has collaborated as a violinist, and since 2014 as its conductor. Since 2015, he has worked as a conductor of several school youth orchestras (Polish Youth Symphony Orchestra in Bytom, Karol Szymanowski Youth Symphony Orchestra in Katowice), which have achieved considerable success under his baton in various competitions and festivals.

So far in his career, Maciej Tomasiewicz has worked as an assistant to conductors of such stature as: Mirosław Jacek Błaszczyk, Łukasz Borowicz, Gabriel Chmura, Matthew Halls, Michail Jurowski, Jacek Kaspszyk, Michał Klauza, Christoph König, Alexander Liebreich, Ludovic Morlot, Antoni Wit. He has been assistant conductor of the Grand Theatre in Łódź, where he prepared (after having won a competition for the position of assistant conductor) the awarded premiere of Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor directed by Krystyna Janda. He has led such orchestras as: the Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic, Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra, Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, Silesian Chamber Orchestra and New Music Orchestra.

Since 2016, he has performer alongside the Silesian Opera in Bytom, where he has conducted, inter alia, the ballet premiere Scheherezade/Medea to the music of Rimsky-Korsakov and Barber, as well spectacles of Puccini’s Tosca, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, Strauss Jr’s The Zigeunerbaron and Moniuszko’s The Haunted Manor. At the Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Białystok his projects has included, Bizet’s Carmen, Puccini’s Turandot. In the 2016/2017 season, he was assistant conductor with the Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus. Since 2019/2020 season, (after having won competition for the position of Andrzej Boreyko’s assistant conductor) he is working with the Warsaw Philharmonic. Since this season he’ll take position of the first principal conductor of the Silesian Chamber Orchestra.
